It’s important to know Cell C USSD codes for every network in order to navigate around the phone. The most common USSD or Unstructured Supplementary Service Data services are airtime purchases and the Call me Back Service. Unlike most networks, Cell C subscribers find some of the Cell C USSD codes saved in their contacts when they use their SIM card which makes it easier for someone who doesn’t know the codes.
Subscribers have a period of three minutes to complete a transaction in which transaction will reach its time-out. Cell C offers premium rated USSD, reverse billed USSD and network initiated – also known as PUSH – USSD services. Services such as loading airtime, balance enquiries, data purchases are offered free of charge.
The *147# service offers subscribers a variety of options such as choosing a Cell C pricing plan, requesting GPRS/MMS settings, checking their Cell C cell phone number, converting airtime into data bundles, blocking a lost Cell C SIM card as well as activating and deactivating BIS on Cell C. To personalise a call-back, subscribers dial *111*1#, *101# to check airtime balance and *102*recharge pin# to load airtime.
Subscribers are charged for checking bank balances, purchasing airtime and other non-Cell C related services. This takes place through a Wireless Application Service Provider or WASP, which is an independent company that links to Cell C in order to provide subscribers with web-based access to various services from wireless devices.
